Thousands Lost Electricity in Queensland and Victoria Following Powerful Storms
Approximately twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland were left experiencing outages on Monday morning after powerful weather events passed over the region, bringing powerful gusts reaching 109 kilometers per hour.
Massive Ice Stones and Widespread Destruction
Locals witnessed giant hailstones measuring up to 7 centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing power throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams deployed to manage the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Storm Challenges
At the same time, nearly 1,000 households in the southern state also experienced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area recorded its most precipitation in a year and a half.
Rescue organizations handled nearly 600 requests for assistance across the area, mainly for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

At one point on the previous day, more than 28k energy customers in the state were lacking electricity.
Climate Outlook
Moist weather were predicted to continue along large portions of eastern Queensland this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the wettest day, with continued thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both areas.

Health officials warned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after past events where similar conditions led to significant health impacts in the area.
